Book Review: The Exorcist: 40th Anniversary Edition by William Peter Blatty

I’m sure all of you have heard of this book (or at least the movie) since it was originally released in 1971. This novel set in the 1940s is inspired by a true story of a child’s demonic possession. Written about the horrible possession of Regan MacNeal, daughter of actress Chris MacNeal. Regan is tormented and tortured by a demon who wishes to kill her. Her mother, friends, doctors, and priests are in a fight of a lifetime to save this poor child.

I was sucked right into this book. I had a hard time putting it down the last two days. I could have easily finished it last night but I was officially creeped out and took a breather from it before bed. Creepy as hell. Scary and full of paranoia this book was incredibly good. I’m not sure why I waited so long to read this book but I’m glad I did. Definitely one of the best books I’ve read this year. Now I think I shall watch the movie again it’s been so long. If you’ve not read this book yet you definitely should.

Book Review: The Dead House by Dawn Kurtagich

Two souls in one body, is that even possible? In this haunting YA Thriller just that possibility is explored. Meet Carly she’s quiet, smart, and shy. She’s out during the day. Meet Kaitlyn she’s everything Carly’s not bold, mean, strong. She comes out at night. Is Carly Johnson just crazy or is there really 2 souls in 1 body?? What happens when one of them disappears and other students in her school disappear? Read this book and find out.

This was a crazy intense story written through notes and logs that happened surrounding a huge event this keeps you clinging on to the story. You will be second guessing and wondering what if the whole time. A very good haunting story.

Book Review: The Haunted Forrest Tour by Jeff Strand

Holy hell what a terrifying ride this book is! Don’t get me wrong it’s a great book but it’s definitely not for those you scare easily or don’t like gore. This was my first read by Strand and it definitely won’t be my last. If you’re looking for a good book to read this Halloween season this one definitely would fit that bill to a T.

Four years earlier a Forrest seemed to sprout out of the ground in the middle of a desert town destroying that town and its people. It’s scary enough for full grown trees to sprout out of the ground. However what’s ten times scarier is the monsters that came with that Forrest. Monsters of your wildest nightmares. Monsters you can’t even imagine. Now there’s a company who’s decided to run tours around the Forrest’s edge and that goes well until Halloween night when all hell breaks loose.

With strong characters and even stronger descriptions and plot twists this one gets a 5 solid star review from me. Make sure you grab a copy of it a devour it ASAP.
